During Rétromobile week 2027, Artcurial Motorcars will offer the entire collection of Belgian collector Thierry Dehaeck in a single-owner sale titled L'Éloge de l'excellence (In praise of excellence). The auction is scheduled for 5 February 2027 at 14:00 at Artcurial's headquarters at 7 rond-point des Champs-Élysées, with auctioneer Anne Claire Mandine on the rostrum, according to Galerie Automobile.

Artcurial estimates the collection at €15-25 million. It comprises 60 collector cars, more than 100 lots of automobilia and a 1953 carousel that the auction house describes as being of extraordinary scale. Dehaeck, founder of the pastry products company Pidy, built the collection over more than four decades with the aim of owning the reference example of each model rather than simply the most prestigious cars.

Citroën is at the heart of the sale. Specialist site Citroënvie highlights a group of SM and DS Chapron models, and French coverage notes that Dehaeck assembled several of the rarest models built around the SM. Artcurial stresses condition, rarity and documentation, noting that the cars were kept in running order by a dedicated in-house workshop and team of mechanics.

The cars will be shown in a public exhibition at Artcurial's headquarters on 3, 4 and 5 February 2027, giving buyers and Rétromobile visitors three days to inspect the lots in central Paris. The full catalogue had not been published at the time of writing. Artcurial announced the sale in partnership with Falcon Dassault Aviation.

For bidders, this is a chance to acquire cars from a single, consistently curated and thoroughly documented private collection, in the busiest week of the European classic car auction calendar.
