Brooklands Museum opens 2027 with its New Year's Day Classic Gathering on Friday 1 January, from 9am to 4pm. The museum calls it its largest annual event celebrating classic vehicles and says it is probably the largest New Year's Day gathering of its kind in the UK.
Visitors with cars or motorcycles registered up to and including 1997 can bring them on site. Organisers say they will use every available space, so expect vehicles on the Finishing Straight, the Aircraft Park, the Members' Banking, around Concorde and in the Motoring Village. Event listings add that modern sports cars and supercars are welcome too.
Live music, a winter BBQ and breakfast and lunch stalls keep the day sociable, and entry also covers the museum's exhibitions. Tickets are sold on the door, but Octane magazine notes that pre-booking is recommended because of the event's popularity.
Winter weather can affect the day. A previous edition was postponed from 1 January to 4 January because of forecast high winds and rain, so check the museum's website before you set off.
