Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show 2027

The Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show returns to the NEC Birmingham on 19-21 March 2027. Where November's Classic Motor Show marks the end of the season, this one gets owners motivated for spring, and its focus is on cars that are still being worked on.

The organisers describe it as "the friendliest of classic car shows", aimed at anyone looking to restart a project, finish a restoration or simply enjoy finished classics with family and friends. The 2026 edition, held on 20-22 March, was promoted with more than 1,300 classics, 160-plus car clubs and over 250 exhibitors. Clubs are encouraged to bring work-in-progress cars as well as finished ones.

Several features return each year. The Barn Find display shows cars presented much as they were discovered, in various states of disrepair. The Pride of Ownership competition, where visitors vote for their favourite, had 12 finalists in 2026. The Restoration Workshop offers practical tips, and Practical Classics World brings the magazine to life, including its own workshop. Hundreds of specialist traders cover parts, tools and services.

There is also an auction. Classic Car Auctions, now part of Iconic Auctioneers, has held a flagship sale at the show since 2016, with retro, classic and modern-classic cars at accessible price points.
