Let us know you're coming

The ADAC Sachsenring Classic 2027 is the official opening of the 100 Jahre Sachsenring celebrations. The circuit at Hohenstein-Ernstthal first opened on 26 May 1927. The event runs from 7 to 9 May 2027 and is organised by ADAC Sachsen e.V., whose sports board member Peter Weidinger presented the programme.

This edition changes format. Instead of racing, the organisers plan presentation runs with original historic vehicles. Around 400 motorcycles, cars and sidecars with documented Sachsenring history are expected, grouped by era and class. Entries are curated, and vehicles need a proven link to the circuit. Former works riders, racing legends and world champions of different decades are due to return as guests of honour, although no names had been confirmed at the time of writing.

The week begins on Thursday 6 May with a pre-event of historic kart and mini-bike presentations. On Friday a parade runs over the old road circuit through Hohenstein-Ernstthal, with an exhibition in town and a festival mile and beer tent at the Altmarkt. Saturday brings track activities, taxi rides and the premiere of the documentary film 100 Jahre Sachsenring at the old Capitol cinema, and Sunday continues on track.

The Classic was first held in 2014 and drew more than 15,000 spectators. The 2017 edition for the 90th anniversary drew 47,000. In 2025, after a three-year break, 27,893 spectators came to see 807 starters in 958 historic vehicles. There was no 2026 edition.
