Goodwood Revival returns to Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex on 17-19 September 2027. It is the meeting that recreates the circuit's racing years, and it is widely described as the largest annual historic motorsport event held entirely in period dress.
The circuit opened in September 1948 and hosted Britain's first post-war race meeting at a permanent venue. Racing stopped in 1966. In 1998, fifty years after the opening, the current Duke of Richmond (then Lord March) brought racing back with the first Revival. The rule has stayed the same ever since: the cars and motorcycles on track are the types that raced at Goodwood up to 1966.
That gives the grid a very particular character. Expect Ferrari 250 GTs, Jaguar E-Types, Aston Martin DB4 GTs, AC Cobras and pre-1960s motorcycles, raced hard rather than paraded. Past editions have run races such as the Kinrara Trophy at dusk on Friday, the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy for motorcycles and the Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration as the Sunday headline.
Off the track, the whole site is dressed in the 1940s to 1960s. Visitors are encouraged to dress the part, and most do. Past editions have included the Over the Road area with a vintage funfair, period shops, a Revival High Street, a Freddie March Spirit of Aviation display and a historic vehicle auction. The exact 2027 programme will be published by Goodwood closer to the event.
For collectors, the Revival is one of the best places in Europe to see significant 1950s and 1960s competition cars driven in anger, and to meet the owners, restorers and specialists who look after them. For first-timers, it is as much a social occasion as a race meeting.
Tickets for 2027 went on sale first to GRRC Members, GRRC Fellows and 2026 ticket buyers, with general sale announced for later in 2026. Book early, as hospitality and grandstand places are limited.
