The Concours of Elegance returns to the gardens of Hampton Court Palace from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 September 2027. The organisers bring together more than 60 of the world's rarest and most exceptional cars, many of them never seen before in the UK, against the backdrop of Henry VIII's palace on the Thames.
The event has moved between royal venues. It began at Windsor Castle in 2012, went to St James's Palace in 2013, Hampton Court in 2014 and the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh in 2015, then returned to Windsor in 2016 before settling at Hampton Court in 2017. Its most unusual feature is the judging. Best of Show is not decided by a panel but by the owners of the competing cars.
Around the main concours field, hundreds of other fine cars appear in club displays, including entrants to the Club Trophy, where UK car clubs put forward their best examples for an independent panel of judges. Winning the Club Trophy earns a place in the following year's main concours. The 2026 winner, a 1969 Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV, is due to take that place in 2027. Thirty Under 30, a display of cars owned by enthusiasts aged 30 and under, returned in 2026.
In 2026 the weekend opened with Friday's Grand Arrival, when the concours cars drove into the gardens and around the central fountain. It closed with Sunday's Grand Depart, and a Junior Concours of miniature cars was held in the Fountain Gardens. Many concours cars also take part in a two-day driving tour in the run-up to the show.
The organisers also run the London Concours (8-10 June 2027) and Concours of Elegance Germany at Tegernsee. Visitors should note that Salon Privé at Blenheim Palace runs on 1-5 September 2027, overlapping this weekend.
The Concours of Elegance began at Windsor Castle in 2012 and has been held at Hampton Court Palace since 2017, after earlier editions at St James's Palace, Hampton Court and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
General admission on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 September 2027 runs 10:00-18:00. A Saturday afternoon-only ticket (13:00-17:00) is offered. Adult, child, student and family tickets are available, plus Car Club Display Passes and Club Concours hospitality (see the organiser's 2027 ticket page for prices). Visitor parking on Hampton Court Green costs £20 per day. Hampton Court station is next to the palace.
