RM Sotheby's London to Brighton Veteran Car Run 2027

The 2027 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run is expected on Sunday 7 November 2027. The Royal Automobile Club says the Run traditionally takes place on the first Sunday in November, with the first cars leaving London at sunrise. The Club has not yet officially confirmed the 2027 date, so treat it as provisional.

For prospective entrants, 2027 planning starts early. For the 2026 Run, entries opened on 25 March. Every car must have been built before 1 January 1905 and hold a Veteran Car Club dating certificate or passport. New entrants create an account and submit details of their car, after which the Veteran Car Run team explains the next steps. Passenger seats are rarely available unless you are part of a registered crew.

If you are thinking of buying a car for the Run, the autumn auction calendar matters. Bonhams' Golden Age of Motoring Sale is traditionally held at New Bond Street on the Friday before the Run, and veteran cars with Brighton Run eligibility come up there each year.

The Run is expected to close the Royal Automobile Club's London Motor Week again. In 2026 the week included the free St James's Motoring Spectacle on Pall Mall.
