LE JOG returns on 16-19 January 2027 for its 30th edition. HERO-ERA calls it the hardest endurance rally in Europe, "perhaps the world". The route covers the full length of Britain from Land's End in Cornwall to John o' Groats in Caithness, run as a reliability trial for historic cars with crews driving through the night.

The 2027 edition brings the biggest calendar change in the event's history. After a Europe-wide survey of competitors, HERO-ERA decided to keep the rally as tough as ever but move it from December to January. The aim was to ease calendar congestion in November and December and attract more new and younger rallyists. The 29th edition ran on 6-9 December 2025 after a break. HERO-ERA says it will keep the event close to the ethos of the original 1993 Reliability Trial.

For the 30th edition, HERO-ERA plans to take crews into Somerset on the first day, using rally roads from earlier versions alongside new venues. The final night includes the infamous 'Loch Ness Monster' section, stretched to nearly three hours, which will need "maximum concentration if medals are to be retained". Vehicle eligibility follows HERO-ERA's standard regulations, and the event counts towards the HERO-ERA Cup.

The entry includes accommodation on the nights of 16 and 17 January for a crew of two, lunches, evening meals and refreshments through the event, and an awards dinner on Tuesday 19 January. HERO-ERA mechanical assist and sweep teams cover the route.

For spectators there is no single venue. The appeal is seeing historic rally cars on Britain's back roads in midwinter, so follow HERO-ERA's published route information.
